NOEMÍ BOND: STAY HUNGRY, STAY FOOLISH

Noemí Bond
I'm sure everybody knows this week is very important for the tecnological sector. The Barcelona Mobile World Congress is an important appointment for many people who work in the world of technology. Day by day, the technology changes very fast. For Barcelona is very important this congress because the impact is very high. The number of visitors grows year after year. It's important for job opportunities and for the tourism sector, mainly.

Barcelona, as a destination, is best known in the world, in fact, thanks to this congress. I'd like to mention that I was at the beginning, in the preliminary of the election of Barcelona as a city to organize this congress when many requirements were necessary.

Hotels were required a commitment to be able to provide acommodation and for that reason was created the agency that works in exclusive for this event.

All the tourism sector was euphoric when Barcelona was chosen for this congress in 2006 and will remain here until 2018. We are very lucky and very proud with this congress and I'm going to talk about a person who has a closer relation with it. Does anyone guess it?

I want to talk a little about Steve Jobs, a person who helped to change the technology in the world mobile but he was also more than this. He was a visionary, an American entrepreneur, a business man, an inventor and an industrial designer. He was the cofounder, chairman and chief executive office of Apple, CEO of Pixar, member of the Walt Disney Company's board of directors, following its acquisition of Pixar, and founder, chairman and CEO of Next.

More information: Apple

Jobs and his friend, Steve Wozniak, are widely recognized as pioneers of the microcomputer revolution of the 1970s and 1980s. He was only 12 years when he saw, for first time, a computer. He was impressed. As you know, Steve Jobs couldn't finish the studies for their high cost. While he was studying, at the same time, he worked very hard and passed for a lot of difficult situations. He travelled to India looking for the inspiration.

Steve Jobs in 2011
In 1975, he founded Apple working in the garage of his parents. Jobs was diagnosed with a pancreatic tumor in 2003 and died in October 2011 with 48 years.

I think he had a very intensive life until the end of his life. Very few people can say this. One of the most important things applied Steve Jobs along of his life was taking profit of every adversity, every difficult situation. For example, the first time he must go out of Apple, for him was very difficult but thanks to this he could create other companies that became a success.

In 1997, he returned to Apple. He was the real visionary for the Apple brand. In this important period, he was very important for Apple driver, managing, development for innovation and design different products to the market: the Macintosh computer, the Next computer, iMac, iTunes, iPod, iPhone, iPad.

A detail as a curiosity: the origin of the name Apple. One day when Steve Jobs came back from an apple farm and thought the name sounded fun, spirited and not intimidating.
More information: Pixar

As you know, he was sometimes a difficult person with bad manners with some colleagues, workers and partners. After his death, in the interview, all of them also said that he was a genius.

I think his story is really very interesting. I like to share with you a video very inspirational where Steve Jobs appears in the Graduation of Students in the Standford University sending a very impressionant message.

I hope you like it!

Thank you for you attention: "With Apple the spirit of Jobs is alive".

You can't connect the dots looking forward;
you can only connect them looking backwards.
So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.

FORCES OF NATURE: ICEBERGS & VOLCANOES

Titanic
Today, The Bonds are still in Canary Islands. After climbing up Teide Mount, they have flown over Hierro Island to see the sea volcanoes and they have arrived to La Gomera to visit the Guanche Community

The family has revised some English grammar like Past Perfect vs. Past Simple, Present Perfect vs. Past Simple and Present and Past Perfect Continuous

After offering new prizes to the Queens of Carnival, David and Pedro Bond, the family has listened a beautiful and sad Mariona Bond's story about Paris and the Tour Eiffel and Noemí Bond has talked about innovation, resilience, creativity and imagination with the Barcelona Mobile World Congress and Steve Jobs like examples.

Finally, the family has read a new chapter of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and they have been talking about the story of Titanic, a story of power against nature and about the broken dreams of the Irish immigration.

Failure saves lives. In the airline industry, every time a plane crashes the probability of the next crash is lowered by that.
The Titanic saved lives because we're building bigger and bigger ships. So these people died, but we have effectively improved the safety of the system, and nothing failed in vain.

ELI BOND: A BIT OF COLOUR IMPROVES YOUR LIFE

Eli Bond talks about colours in our lives
Because in this life nothing is black and white... Take part to what each colour can convey to us. Play with each tone to strengthen your positive emotions.

According to Pshycologists and experts in colour, the tones that we have contacts throughout the day, afect in our mood. Since to be processed differently in the brain, they convey different feelings and emotions.

Let's go to start to describe them:

Green: If you want to relax the most, test a walk in a park.

The reason: Green transmits rest and calm. People feel calmer when they seen it. If you need a moment of peace in a busy day, there is nothing better than a stroll along a park. You will feel relax immediately.

Red: If you want to stand out between a lot of people, test with red lipstick.

The reason: Red gets you pay attention to detail. Paint your lips of this colour before taking action. It is also the colour that we most need to look for processing, so all eyes will be heading towards you.

Blue: If you want to think about a good gift, test to look at the sky.

The reason: This colour develops the imagination. If you need to put it in use, nothing better than throw a look at the sky to have a brainstorming. That will help you feel more creative quickly.

Lilac: If you want to feel different, try to make up with this colour.

The reason: This colour is perfect to encourage the expansion of originality. Dare to apply a shade or a lipstick of this colour, it will be ideal to enhance your skin tone and radiate energy and health.

White: If you want to get out of a bad time, try to wear white clothes.

The reason: White gives us more hope for the future. Wear white clothes or white accessories will transmit hope to look to our future.

Brown: If you want to escape to the quietness, try to go to your favourite coffee shop.

The reason: No matter the decoration or the colour of the coffee itself, these tones will make the coffee shop the ideal place to relax when outside things aren't so good. People feel comfortable when they're surrounded by earth tones.

Black: If you want to feel desired, try to wear black heels.

The reason: Surely, you already feel sexier when you wear black. But this colour also gets you feel powerful and sophisticated. If you want to make it easier than ever to capture the glaze of thousands of fans, you have to wear some black heels.

Yellow: If you want to get the mood, try to paint your room in yellow.

The reason: Yellow is the colour of the sun and symbolizes the strengh and the will, too. People who passing time in a room painted with this colour feels more active and have better mood than those who found in rooms of other colours.

Orange: If you want to be more active, test to get an orange bracelet.

The reason: This colour helps you to feel more cheerful. Implement it using some orange accessories. Check it out when you feel tireder and you will fill with energy and vitality.

Thanks, Eli Bond.

THE BONDS & ENVIRONMENT: TRAVELS AND FLOWERS

The Bonds enjoying Tenerife and butterflies
Today, The Bonds have had an intensive day in Tenerife Island. They have climbed Teide Mountain and they’re now resting in a hut, on the top of the mountain, which is only reserved for special guests.

Before climbing Teide, they had revised some English grammar like Demonstratives and Past Participle and they have read a new chapter of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

MJ has offered two new presents to our family: a book to prepare B2 Exam and one of the greatest novels of Charles Dickens, Oliver Twist.

Next, Eli Bond has offered some interesting information about the importance of colours in our lives, something that this family knows perfectly because there is one of its members, Jaume Bond, who is a professional painter.

More information: Past Participle

The Grandma has talked about colours, flowers and travels remembering two incredible writers, Mercè Rodoreda and Blai Bonet. Both of them are considered excellent writers and both of them had difficult lives full of disasters, sadness and terrible personal conditions.

The Bonds have participated in the Carnival last weekend wearing some butterflies costumes and thanks to this, they’ve won another prize. Jaume, Joanjo and Pedro Bond have joined to David Bond who has been declared the Queen and all of them have won the festival.

The family is very happy for this prize because David has been in Paris, working in a new James Bond’s film, and he has seen how the family has missed him during these days. David’s returning has been the best present for this unforgettable family.

After this moment of glory, the family has talked about environment and recycling using some modal verbs like Must, Have to and Should and they have shared different experiences in Tenerife, a special place for Irene Bond, who used to spend long seasons in the island after working in her secret and dangerous missions and for Pedro Bond who has remembered his ancestors and who has talked about one of the most beautiful European cultures: the Guanches.

Finally, The Grandma has decided to buy some islands. They name Wild Islands and are situated between Canary Islands and Green Cape. It has been a present for celebrating M. José Bond’s new goal.

If we intend to provide a better life, and a better world,
for future generations, we can't ignore the quality of the environment we leave them.

CARNIVAL IN TENERIFE: CREATING YOUR FAKE PROFILE

Ready to enjoy the Canarian Carnival
The Bonds have just arrived to Tenerife Island in Canary Islands. They are going to stay four days in the island enjoying the carnival, one of the most famous around the world.

There are three kinds of carnival. For one hand, you can enjoy the pro-protest carnival, where people wear different costumes and are critic with real characters o situations, especially, politics and religious. You can find this carnival in places like Vilanova i la Geltrú or Sitges, in Barcelona. For other hand, you can enjoy another carnival, a great coloured-party where people sing and dance without stopping. You can find this carnival in places like Rio de Janeiro in Brazil or Tenerife Island in Canary Islands and finally, there is Venice. Venice is Venice.

Carnival is a synonymous of costumes and fake identities, and this is the reason because of the family is starting to prepare their own fake profiles.

The Bonds have wanted to visit the lucky islands because of Montse Bond, who has an old friend in the island, Nikka and she wished to visit her but they're not only going to participate in the carnivale, the family wants to climb up Teide, the Canarian volcano and visits two more islands: Hierro and La Palma, two volcanic islands very important for the future of the planet.

These two visits are the reason because of The Bonds are assisting in that moment to a conference about occupational hazards. They want to climb up volcanoes and walk across high dangerous sismic zones and they need to know as things as it was possible about protection against these dangers.

Next Monday, The Grandma is going to talk about ecology, nature and colours to prepare a new day about environment.

It's a party that's being organized; it's not a protest.
The carnival is not like it was a long time ago.
Before it was do as you like, take to the streets.

More information: Some, Any and No Compounds

Finally, after a votation full of suprises, Joanjo Bond has won the Contest with his song Fly, fly, fly. Joanjo is from Cyprus and this is the first time that this country wins this Contest, then you can imagine Juanjo's emotion and feelings when he has realized he was going to have this fantastic honour, but Juanjo hasn't done it alone.

A day in Eurovision with The Bonds
Eurovision is a Contest where is very important having allies and good friends and in this case, Juanjo has received the unforgettable help of M.José Bond, from Norway

They have offered a complete show with all the ingredients: vocal quality, deep lyrics, synchronized choreography and great tones of happiness and sense of humour.

The Bonds have dedicated this prize to David and Irene Bond, from Croatia and Poland, two members of this nice family who had to stay in Paris for laboural reasons.

RENAISSANCE & IMPRESSIONISM: THE HIDDEN MESSAGES

Visiting The Louvre and assisting to a conference
Today, The Bonds are visiting two of the most important museum of the world: The Louvre and The Orsay. They are very interested in art and painting, especially Jaume Bond, who is a professional one and enjoys painting in every place that he can.

Painting has been a method to express thousands of ideas and knowledge during the centuries. The family is very interested in two movements The Renaissance and The Impressionism because during these two ages, painting was more than simple art, was a way to express secret desires and forbidden ideas. The Grandma wants to talk about Vincent Van Gogh, his paintings and the influence of number Phi in them.

After that, the family is going to assist to a new conference about Labour Integration, Role Games and Teamwork. The EU is destinating lots of funds to improve the quality of working in all its countries, especially in these with high levels of unemployment.

Finally, The Bonds are going to rest because tonight they are going to fly from Paris to Kiev where they're going to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest. There isn't any clear favourite although Pedro Bond sounds like a great candidate to win the contest but we have to wait until tomorrow when all the members of this family will defense their songs with all their heart and with their music skills.

PREPARING EUROVISION: PROFILES AND COUNTRY SPOTS

The Bonds with their star stunt, David Bond
Today, The Bonds are still in Paris. While David Bond is working in some scenes of James Bond's A View to a Kill, the rest of the family visited some important places during the French Revolution.

After that, the family has practised some exercises about Past Simple vs. Present Perfect and has read a new chapter of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Finally, The Bonds have created some oral stories talking about things without saying which they were.

Tomorrow, they are going to visit The Louvre Museum and The Orsay Museum. It will be the last day in the capital of France because next Thursday, the family is going to travel to Kiev to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest. Today, they've prepared their personal profiles and they've created some spots about their countries.

All of the stunt men, these are the unsung heroes. They really are.
Nobody is giving them any credibility. They're risking their necks.

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ANTONI GAUDÍ IN SANT BOI?

Eli, Irene & Olga Bond have gone shopping
Today, The Bonds have practiced Present Perfect with Already, Just, Yet, Ever and Never. Thay have also talked about the modal verb Need/Needn't and the normal verb Need to/Don't need to.

The Grandma has totally crossed and she has needed some caffeine to be a person. Yesterday, she had an ugly incident with some Russian teenagers in the streets of Paris and today she was remembering it. She has had an introspective day and she has started to remember old stories which aren't interesting but can save you if you're able to connect them with whatever you want.

More information: Already, Just, Yet

After these stories, the family has made an homage to Sant Boi, a beautiful and important city next to the old Via Rubricatus and Via Augusta, talking about the importance of its popular people, like Pau Gasol or Marc Gasol and famous ones like Manel Esteller.

Finally, the family has talked about the Phi number and its importance in our universe. The number was an inspiration to our greatest genius, Antoni Gaudí, who was working in Sant Boi before building The Sagrada Família.

The family is still in Paris enjoying these last days before travelling to Kiev where they're going to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest

Good luck family!

OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS: HOW TO SURVIVE TO DANGER

The Bonds in an Occupational Hazards Conference
The Bonds are in another conference. Today is about Occupational Hazards and they're learning lots of healthy and safety terms which are very interesting to protect yourself when you're working in special conditions.

Meanwhile, The Grandma is visiting Paris in a foggy day and she can not take beautiful photos of the city because all is grey.

This evening, the family will join again and they're starting to prepare its future appearance in the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev. They're very exciting practising their songs and The Grandma has asked for Céline, an old friend, to help them.

The Grandma has remembered some old friends who sing in French like Charles Aznavour, Édith Piaf, Charles Trenet, Jacques Brel and Céline Dion. They have also read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Finally, the family has played with the works of a genius, Antoni Gaudí, who created an incredible architecture which can be understood from different points of view and this diversity of opinions and points of view makes us stronger and better.

LABOUR INSERTION: LIBERTÉ, EGALITÉ, FRATERNITÉ

M.José & Eli Bond in Labour Conference
Today, The Bonds are in the Labour Conference: Talk English organized by the International Labour Organization.

The family is worried about the real situation of working after the global economic crisis which has affected lives of millions of people severely.

They have taken information to help other people to find a work. This is the reason because of they have to find the best, and not the best thing, about all of them.

Meanwhile, The Grandma is visiting some old French friends, aka Les Misérables, to explore other ways.

Our parents and grandparents understood this truth deeply.
They believed, as we do, that to create jobs, a modern economy requires modern investments: educating, innovating and rebuilding for our children's future. Building an economy to last, from the middle class up, not from the billionaires down.

CATHEDRALS: RESILIENCE AND RESISTANCE TO SHINE

Antoni Gaudí and the Sagrada Família
Today, The Bonds have visited some places in Paris like Notre-Dame and the Eiffel Tower. They have taken lots of photos and they have had enough time to practise some Telephoning English and Second Conditional

The family is working a lot and they need some time to rest and sum up all the information that they are receiving. They have written a little post about Columbus and have listened the interesting presentation of Mariona Bond who has talked about her new future project.

After all, The Grandma has explained the importance of being the owner of your land during the Middle Age and its influence in our history from then to nowadays in the industrial evolution, and the importance of keeping strong in front of the worst moments to be ready to start a new hope when the moment arrives.

More information: Second Conditional

Eusebi Güell in Park Güell
All generations have lived hard moments and have passed them resisting and creating the most incredible art, like old cathedrals, from Notre-Dame to the Sagrada Família, like masterpieces from Victor Hugo's Les Misérables to Salvador Espriu's Inici de Càntic en el Temple and being strong and perseverant from The Uffizis to The Medicis; from The Güells to The Bonds.

Tomorrow, The Grandma is going to take a free day to try to resolve some personal business meanwhile the family is continuing visiting the city of love and light which creates a magic triangle with Venice and Barcelona.

Life is not pink but The Bonds are going to offer their colour tone in the city of art and vanguards. We're ready to enjoy the city!

Who knows where the world may turn us, only a fool would say.
Who knows what the fates may have in store.
Follow the light of truth as far as our eyes can see.
How should we know where that may be? How should we know?

Then the angry skies, the battle cries, the sounds of glory,
and for all those years our eyes and ears were filled with tears.

La Sagrada Família the war is won the battle's over.
La Sagrada Família for the lion and the lamb.
La Sagrada Família we thank the lord the danger's over.
La Sagrada Família behold the mighty hand.
La Sagrada Família the night is gone the waiting's over.
La Sagrada Família there's peace throughout the land.

MARIONA BOND: SMELLING A FLOWERED FUTURE

Mariona Bond and her roses
Hello! Today I would like to talk about my professional future, about my project. I think it's important for to explain my professional objectives.

First of all, I'm going to explain who I am and why I would like to do it.

I'm Mariona Bond, I'm an adult and I have been working for another enterprise since I was 19 years old. The last years I have been working in Luxembourg Central Bank, until last October when I decided that was the moment to finish my relationship with this bank.

There was a collective dismissal and some employers had to leave the enterprise. For this reason, I decided to go out like a volunteer, because during this time, although I had a lot of things and I had a very good social and economical conditioins, there was something in my mind that I thought it was more important than this, and I believed it was the moment, the moment to fly away to get on the family business.

As someone of you know, my family has a business, a flower shop in Pommerloch. It's Bond's Flower Shop. This business had a large trajectory, since 1889 when my great-grandfather started to work like a gardener. After him, my grandparents followed the business and began to work like florists. While my grandfather specialized in funeral arrangements, my grandmother made weddings arrangements. I have grown in this environment, covered by flowers.

Then, my mum continued the business. She had studied Arts and this kind of work liked her, and some years later began my sister, too. She studied Floral Art and with her creative and her effort, that's how it became what it is today.

So, I would love to invest with my effort in something that I know I can do it. I have studied a Degree in Management and Business Administration, And I think I have management qualities to help the business, and I'm sure that it's the moment to do something there.

I have begun to do changes in the computerization of the management, doing the data base of customers, to improve the online Store, creating the webpage, increasing our presence in the network, and I'm sure, a lot of more things...

And that's all! Perhaps this is my next job...

So smile for a while and let's be jolly love shouldn't be so melancholy.
Come along and share the good times while we can.

Lynn Anderson

HUMANISM: DREAMS TO AVOID NIGHTMARES

Mariona and Jaume Bond dreaming
Yesterday, The Bonds woke up with the strange feeling of staying in another place. All of them remembered Venice and the Carnivale with strong memories but, it seems that they have never travelled to the city of channels and dreams.

It's difficult to explain but after their last experiences in San Francisco with the hippie community and in the Navajo Nation with the incredible experience of The Blessing Way and the consume of peyote, the family has big problems to remember things.

More information: Turismo Venezia

By the way, the family was revising some English Telephoning and some aspects of Past Tenses like While, When, As soon as, Before and After. They also sent a tweet about Levi Strauss and the origin of the jeans; they practised the Simple Conditional, and they talked about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a genius.

More information: Simple Conditional

After receiving an incredible present and becoming as small as an ant because of the emotion, The Grandma explained some stories about dreams and literature with Bernat Metge, one of the most important writers during the Humanism; San Juan de la Cruz and Santa Teresa de Jesús, the ascetics poets.

Finally, the family tried to know what really had happened these four last days but, at the end, all seemed a dream... or was it real?

We are the dream - Muriel Casals.

OASIS BAR: ÉÍ 'AANÍÍGÓÓ 'ÁHOOT'É FOR THE BONDS

Native American, ancient culture and language
While The Bonds were practising Countable & Uncountable nouns, the Highway Patrol arrived. They wanted to know how was possible that all their transports were full of peyote, a beautiful plant of the desert.

The family had been visiting Navajo Nation and they were impressioned by the resistance of this incredible and ancient community so important for our recent history and their wonderful language which was used in the WWII by the Codetalkers. They discovered The Blessing Way an important Navajo ritual.

More information: Navajo Code

Every member of the family explained his/her alibi to demonstrate that they were innocent and they didn't know anything about this wonderful plant.

More information: Countable & Uncountable

The Grandma explained how she was in her Indian tent with Mariona Bond who was totally slept while Pedro, David and Maya Bond were drinking some Navajo beer, this which has a black and gold tag, in Oasis Bar. M.José Bond was with Paula Bond dancing country line while Noemí Bond was trying to help some rich people, who seemed Arabian but were only native ones with some handkerchiefs on their heads, and wanted to be cured by the magic powers of Noemí's hands. Olga and Eli Bond were watching TV when Juanjo and Irene Bond took photos and disturbed some local scorpions and Jaume was sculpting an Indian Totem that Montse had demanded him.

Police has believed nothing and they're all under suspect waiting tomorrow when an FBI team is going to arrive to help the local police and all The Bonds are going to be analized by the true machine. God helps them!
