'WE THREE KINGS OF ORIENT ARE' BY JOHN H. HOPKINS

We three Kings of Orient are
Bearing gifts we traverse afar
Field and fountain
Moor and mountain
Following yonder star

O star of wonder, star of night
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading, still proceeding
Guide us to thy perfect light

Born a King on Bethlehem's plain
Gold I bring to crown Him again
King for ever, ceasing never
Over us all to reign

O star of wonder, star of night
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading, still proceeding
Guide us to thy perfect light

Frankincense to offer have I
Incense owns a Deity nigh
Prayer and praising, all men raising
Worship Him, God most high
You might also like

O star of wonder, star of night
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading, still proceeding
Guide us to thy perfect light

Myrrh is mine
Its bitter perfume breathes
A life of gathering gloom
Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying
Sealed in the stone cold tomb

O star of wonder, star of night
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading, still proceeding
Guide us to thy perfect light

Glorious now behold Him arise
King and God and Sacrifice!
Al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia
Heaven to earth replies

O star of wonder, star of night
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading, still proceeding
Guide us to thy perfect light

John Henry Hopkins Jr., 1857

En la nit, tres mudats
cavallers fan sa via.
Són tres reis d’Orient
que han sortit d’un país
sense nom.
Si teniu en el cor fantasia,
inventeu-ne un de bell
per al món més feliç.

In the night, three molts
knights make their way.
They are three kings of the East
who have left a country
with no name.
If you have fantasy in your heart,
invent a beautiful one
for the happiest world.
