RIGOBERTA BANDINI, QUALSEVOL NIT POT SORTIR EL SOL

Today, Claire Fontaine, Tonyi Tamaki and The Grandma have gone to El Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona to enjoy a great show, Rigoberta Bandini.

It has been an unforgettable party, an amazing night full of great performances, humor and deep lyrics. Without any kind of doubt a great star has born in El Palau and they have been witnesses of it.

Paula Ribó González (born 30 April 1990), better known by the stage name Rigoberta Bandini (from Rigoberta Menchú and Arturo Bandini, a John Fante's character, is a Catalan singer-songwriter, theatre and television actress, voice actress, and playwright from Barcelona.

Ribó's multi-departmental professional career started at age seven, when she provided the dubbing voice work for the title character of the children animated series Caillou.

She continued to work as a voice actress in both Catalan and Castilian for international firms such as Universal and Disney starring in big productions such as Peter Pan and Brave, as well as in film series like The Twilight Saga or The Divergent Series and musical films such as Les Misérables, Sing and Frozen. She also became the regular Spanish-talking voice of Emma Stone, Dakota Fanning and Shailene Woodley.

After graduating Institut del Teatre, she ventured into the music scene in 2011 alongside two college friends with the formation The Mamzelles. They released two studio albums. In parallel to her contribution in film, Ribó created her own theatre production company, directed four plays, started in six, and wrote other four. She also starred in selected Catalan television films and series.

In 2019, Ribó launched her solo music career under the pseudonym Ribogerta Bandini. Her third single, In Spain We Call It Soledad, released in 2020, became viral on Spotify and launched Bandini into stardom.

She achieved national recognition in 2022 placing as the runner-up at the Benidorm Fest with the song Ay Mamá.

In 1996, at the age of six, Ribó participated at the Zecchino d'Oro children song competition in Italy with the song La scatola dei tesori.

She also debuted in voice acting in an early age. Among other works, she voiced Caillou, Chihiro (Spirited Away), and Anna (Frozen).

Ribó studied theatre at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona.

In 2010, together with Paula Malia and Bàrbara Mestanza, she founded the music group The Mamzelles. The band released two albums Que se desnude otra (2012) and Totem (2014).

In 2012, they created a theatre company, The Mamzelles Teatre.

In 2019, Ribó launched her solo music career under the stage name of Rigoberta Bandini.

In 2020, she rose to prominence when her single In Spain We Call It Soledad became viral in Spotify.

In December 2021, she was selected to participate in the first edition of Benidorm Fest with the song Ay Mamá, placing as the runner-up.

PAULA RIBÓ, FROM 'CAILLOU' TO RIGOBERTA BANDINI

Today, The Grandma has received the wonderful visit of one of her closest friends, Claire Fontaine.

Claire loves music and they have been talking about Roberta Bandini, the incredible Catalan artist that everybody must know, enjoy and follow.

Paula Ribó González (Barcelona, ​​April 30, 1990), known artistically as Rigoberta Bandini, is a Catalan singer, actress, playwright and writer.

She was one of the creators of the musical trio The Mamzelles.

At the age of nine, Ribó began composing songs and also learning to play the guitar, creating his own melodies.

As a voice actress, in 1999 she voiced Princess Dot in A Bug's Life and in 2013, Anna d'Arendelle in Frozen, in Catalan. Also it put the voice of Chihiro or Caillou, in Castilian.

In 2011 he created the group The Mamzelles, together with Paula Malia and Bàrbara Mestanza.

In 2013 they became known with the advertising campaign Envàs on vas of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

He has directed works at the Sala Barts or the Espai Brossa and published a novel close to autofiction entitled Vértigo.

In 2020 he released his first songs under the stage name Rigoberta Bandini, Too Many Drugs and In Spain We Call It Soledad mixing English and Spanish, earthiness and spirituality, electronic dance and classical song.

He also released Que Cristo baje with the collaboration of New York director Jason Trucco for the music video.

In mid-2020, just after the birth of her son, she published a version of Cuando tu nazcas by Mocedades.

In 2021, at the gala of the XIII Gaudí Awards, he reinterpreted live Qualsevol nit pot sortir el sol by Jaume Sisa in Catalan. In the same year, she was the author of Aviam qué passa, the song of Estrella Damm's summer campaign, in Catalan too. 

Her last success is Perra.
