Corto Maltese

Eva Maltese, our gymnast, is the Corto Maltese’s granddaughter.  

Corto was one of the most important adventurers during the last century. Nobody knows anything about Corto since the day that he disappeared in the middle of the mist near Stonehenge, England. This incident changed Eva’s life forever and she decided to dedicate her whole life to her sport career as her grandfather wished.   She dedicates to gymnastics more than 8 hours every day and this fact is a very important problem for finding a full time job. It’s impossible. For that reason, she combines her career with her grandfather’s searching. 

She’s an expert in prehistorical ruins. She knows Mnajdra, Hagar Qim and the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum in Malta, perfectly. Nowadays, she lives in Sant Boi de Llobregat near the High Efficiency Center (CAR) in Sant Cugat del Vallès where she trains every day and next to Gavà where she works as a volunteer in the Prehistorical Mines.

Last news about the family!

Belén, our journalist, who was working in Vatican City State as The Pope’s correspondent has been dismissed. We don’t know what has happened although some people say that the Pope discovered Belén watching The Da Vinci’s Code and he became angry. We must confirm our sources. In these difficult moments all the family is with her and she has got all our support. Belén has decided to spend a few days in Rome, Italy, where she lives nowadays, and return to Barcelone next week. 

Please, Belén, contact us when you return because we’ll send Dámaris, our expert in picking people up from the airport, and don’t forget to check your Vespa in. It will be very useful for driving around Sant Boi and remember: he's the Pope but you're our princess!

Last news about the family!

Gemma, our nurse, has fallen in love again. This time, the lucky one is a handsome English man called James. We don’t know anything else. He’s very reserved but we think he’s an important business man because he lives between London and Monte Carlo and spends hours and money in Casino Royale. 

The couple met in the Princess Grace Hospital Centre, meanwhile he was being nursed by Gemma. A beautiful love story!

Do you know that Monaco won the Eurovision Song Contest once? Yes. It was in 1971 with the song Un banc, un arbre, une rue performed by Séverine. Here it is.

Amy Winehouse was an English songwriter and singer who played different genres: soul, jazz, reggae and rhythm and blues. She became famous quickly and had a chaotic life dying of alcohol poising on 23 July 2011.

Her songs will be eternal and unforgettable and her album Back to Black posthumously became the UK’s best-selling album of the 21^st century.

Amy Winehouse died at age 27 entering in The 27 Club. Jim Morrison (The Doors), Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) from the US; Brian Jones, the founder and original bandleader of The Rolling Stones from England; Cecilia from Spain or Slada Guduras from Bosnia also belong to this Club.

Last news about the Grandma's family!

Montse, our painter, is in Paris enjoying the Christmas holidays and getting some ideas for her pictures and paintings.

This evening, she has been seen near Eiffel Tower singing an English version of Édith Piaf’s hit La vie en rose while was painting a new creation.

Hold me close and hold me fast

Mister Bean

A child in a grown man’s body is the best definition of Mr. Bean, an enjoyable and hilarious character created and performed by Rowan Atkinson.

From 1990 to 1995, Mr. Bean was watched by millions of people in different countries and he became a British icon. 

Accompanied by his teddy bear, Mr. Bean filled with smiles our lives and entered in our collective imagination forever.

CHRISTMAS TREE, DECORATIONS & QUEEN VICTORIA

Christmas

The Christmas tree tradition has got a German origin. In 1832, Queen Victoria, when she was still a teenager, in her journal for Christmas Eve wrote: 

"After dinner... we then went into the drawing-room near the dining-room... There were two large round tables on which were placed two trees hung with lights and sugar ornaments. All the presents being placed round the trees..."

Nowadays, the tradition continues but, fortunately, the natural trees are being replaced by the plastic ones, in an attempt of protecting and conserving our Nature and Environment.
