TANIA BEAN: SAMMARINESE RESPECT FOR THE PLANET

Tania Bean with Rhini and his pumpkin
Tania Bean. Veterinary. San Marino.

I'm Tania Bean. I was born in San Marino, the oldest European republic and one of the smallest European countries. I studied to be a veterinary. I love animals and it's a great responsibility for me to take care of their lives and try to improve the quality of them. I believe animals must live in their own environments but if they are under the danger of extinction, we must protect them even if is offering them other places to live. The UNO says that 150 species disappear every day because of the human actions. It's a drama that we must stop. Remember: Recycle. Renovate. Re-use. And the most important "R". RESPECT.

-Good morning, Tania Bean and thanks to attend us.

-Good morning. It's a pleasure.

-You're a special doctor because your patients can't speak. How do you discover their pains?

-Well. It's long to explain but I try to explain it in a short way: animals don't speak using words but they speak to us using other ways. Non-verbal communication is very important in these cases. Animal psychology.

-Do you believe that psychology helps medicine?

-Of course, I believe it and not only with animals. It's exactly the same with humans. You must have a good attitude in front of diseases and illnesses because if you fall down in depressive thoughts, then you will have two problems: your disease and your brain.

-How important is our brain?

-The brain is the most important part in an animal because it controls everything. The brain is a mix of neurological connections and if there is a problem with one of them, the body won't be fine. It's science.

-Which is your favourite scientific?

-I like Arnau de Vilanova. He was the most important doctor in the Middle Age. We don't know where he was born but some clues say that he was from Lleida because he defined himself like Arnaus Ilerdensis. Arnau de Vilanova was the first to write a book about medical treatments. It was Regimen Sanitatis ad regem Aragonum and he was known like the doctor of the kings and the popes. Arnau talked Catalan, Latin, Occitan, Italian, Arabian, Greek and Hebrew. Nowadays, the most important hospital in Lleida is named Arnau de Vilanova in his honour.

-The Middle Age is far away. Could you talk me about a modern scientific?

-Manel Esteller. He was born in Sant Boi de Llobregat and he works on the field of epigenetics in health and disease. He's the Director of the Cancer Epigenetics and Biology Program (PEBC) of the Bellvitge Institute for Biomedical Research (IDIBELL), Leader of the Cancer Epigenetics Group, Professor of Genetics in the School of Medicine of the University of Barcelona, and Research Professor at the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA).

-What do you think is the big discovering in medicine?

-Medicine has had lots but I think in the Swiss physician Friedrich Miescher, who discovered DNA and it was first isolated in 1869. Genetics is the clue that can help traditional medicine to improve treatments. All things that help in human medicine help in animal one.

-Which is your advice for a newcomer vet?

-S/He should follow the scientific methods without forgetting traditional ones and, of course, s/he must love and respect animals.

-How do you feel being a member of The Beans?

-Wow. We're a fantastic family and I feel very well with them. They are funny and honest. I was one of the last members to join the family but it wasn't a problem. i was totally accepted by all of them.

-How is a normal day with The Bonds?

-We haven't got a standard day. Every day is different because every day offers you the possibility of doing different things and this is fantastic because you aren't bored.

-How long have you been studying English?

-Since I was in the Primary School. In San Marino, we speak Italian. Although we are the oldest European republic, we have a parallel history with Italy and a lot of citizens of my country emigrated to the USA during the hard days of wars, depression and poverty. The ties that join us with them are the most important reason because of we also speak English, to be in contact with American Italian people.

-What can you explain about your life with The Beans?

I have spent incredible moments with this family. We have laughed a lot and it has been a fantastic experience living with them. They are funny and honest and very hard workers.

-Which is your best memory with the family?

-It's difficult to choose only one but I suppose that the day when I participated in the TV Show Password. I was very nervous but I knew they were there supporting me and that was enough to relax and offered the best of me.

-You like reading, don't you? Recommend me a book...

-I'm reading two books: one is about the uncertain origins of Málaga, a beautiful Andalusian city who I adore. The book talks about the different influences of Phoenician, Semitic and Arabian cultures over the city; the other is about rhinos. Rhini, our pet, is an amazing rhino who travels with us around the world and he needs special attentions. I'm very interested in knowing more things about African and Asian animals because they are very interesting to study.

-How can you define yourself with only a sentence?

-I'm a Bean.

-Thank you very much, Tania Bean.

-Thanks to you. Ciao!

The Beans receiving their prize in Lisbon
The Beans are still enjoying their victory in the last Eurovision Song Contest. The family did a great interpretation demonstrating a great teamwork and coordination, skills that you need if you want to success in the labour world.

Their amazing interpretation was TT immediately and fans around the world expressed their admiration about The Beans and their wonderful song. One of them was Katrina Leskanich, winner of this contest in 1997 representing the UK.

Katrina has offered The Beans the possibility of joining her in her next tour in Hong Kong. The family is astonished with the news and after some hours of deliberation, they have accepted. Then, it's official that The Beans are going to leave their lifestyle, their travels and their parties and they're going to join Katrina in this new adventure.

The Grandma is very happy with this decision because she has always trusted in her family and she knew they were the best candidates to do whatever they wanted because, yes, they can do it! She isn't going to stay with them in Asia because she prefers to return to Barcelona and start new business with new partners. She thinks that she has already done all her work with the family and now she's going to be in contact with them thanks to the 2.0 technology.

The secret of The Beans's success is easy to explain: sacrifice, effort, happiness, teamwork, partnership and commitment

All of them have got this common success thanks to their individual efforts which applicated to a common goal have been the best way to reach their objectives. If you want to be a good candidate, you must have an elaborated CV, a good resume and especial communicative skills that allow you to get an interview over. These are the most important clues in labour insertion and these are the keys that have helped The Beans to reach the victory in this contest.

Katrina Elizabeth Leskanich (born April 10, 1960) is an American musician, author and former lead singer of British pop rock band Katrina and the Waves whose song Walking on Sunshine was an international hit in 1985 and in 1997 won the Eurovision Song Contest for the United Kingdom with the song Shine a Light.

Katrina Leskanich
Leskanich was born in Topeka, Kansas. She is of Irish, German and Czech ancestry. Her father was a colonel in the United States Air Force, and Katrina and her five siblings (four sisters and one brother) moved frequently as children. After she was born, they moved from Kansas to New Mexico, and then California, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Stuttgart, in (then) West Germany, and the Netherlands before arriving in the United Kingdom in 1976.

The band's earliest incarnation was as The Waves, a group that played in and around Cambridge, England, from 1975 to 1977 and featured guitarist Kimberley Rew and drummer Alex Cooper. For the first Capitol album, the band re-recorded, remixed, or overdubbed 10 songs from their earlier Canadian releases to create their self-titled international debut album in 1985.

The Katrina and the Waves album was a substantial critical and commercial success, and the group had a worldwide hit with the song Walking on Sunshine. A Grammy award nomination for Best New Artist followed, as did constant touring, both of which helped to spur sales of new releases.

The Beans during their winner performance
In 1997, after having somewhat faded into obscurity, the band won the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 for the United Kingdom with Shine a Light, the same song that Katrina has chosen, this time, to sing with The Beans

The first video of this song is now avalaible and we can offer the exclusive of its premiere. Under the direction of Antonio Bean and The Grandma's production, Katrina sings with Paqui, Elisabet and Cristina Bean with a chorus formed by Ana, Nereyda and Natalia Bean, a choreography created by Carol Bean and a fantastic melody performanced by Tania Bean with the drums, Anton Bean with the keyboards, Óscar, Edgar and Estefanía Bean with the guitars and Manuel Bean with the bells. The result is a beautiful and unforgettable version of the 1997's hit Shine a light.

The new version is stronger than the older because every Bean offers his/her colour to it and as a result, you can enjoy a powerful song with deep lyrics full of commitment, energy, happiness, effort, teamwork and coordination, an amazing song mixed of gospel, folk and pop rythms which is going to steal your heart and you mind.

C'mon, the version is also now avalaible in ITunes and Amazon Music. Download it now and enjoy with us!

THE STATUE OF LIBERTY: WELCOME TO THE BEANS, TANIA

Antonio Bean's Declaration. January, 12. 14:05-East Time. New York.

The Beans in the Statue Cruises boat
We started the day practising some English grammar. We talked about Likes and Dislikes and about Comparatives of Equality. We practised some Social English, Vocabulary about Places and Crimes and reviewed some grammar.

We talked about the importance of being a member of a community and about the common work in cooperatives.

Tania Bean and Rhini
We were very happy because a new member had joined to our family.

She's Tania from San Marino. She’s a nice person and a great veterinary. She was going to take care of Rhini during our travel. In fact, she's not an unknown person for me because she's my sister. My family kept this secret during a lot of years but I discovered and I wanted to come to the USA to meet her.

Now, she's missing as the rest of my family. Last time I remember her, she was talking with Anton about an interesting website to download books.

More information: Planetebook

We were enjoying our moment, sharing some sweets and talking about our personal experiences as a normal family when we heard the terrible sound. Something had happened on the first floor of the boat because the water started to cover all of it. Only five minutes later, the boat had disappeared and all the family was trying to save each other. It was a dramatic moment. I could see Rhini arriving to the shore of Liberty Island but I couldn't see anything more, only water. I closed my eyes and I started to pray God thinking in one of my favourite prayers Near my God to Thee. It's curious. This song was also the last song which was played in the Titanic.

I prayed and prayed and prayed...

I don't remember anything more. I'm so sorry. I'm exhausted and sad.

In these moments, I remember a William Shakespeare's quote: It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.

God bless us!

(To be continued)

Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
darkness be over me, my rest a stone;
yet in my dreams I’d be nearer, my God, to Thee.
