I was remembering when my boyfriend said to me that he wanted to go to Kenya for our honeymoon.

First of all, I hate animals!!! I never do anything bad to them but I don’t like animals, I’m sorry.

When I was a child, I lived with my parents and my grandparents in the same house. My grandma and I went to walk and if we found a dog, we must change the street because she had panic and then, nowadays, I have panic too…

However, I began to visit web sites and I liked this country a lot and its people and its culture.

While we were looking for more information about this, I enjoyed a lot and I began to find more interesting things to do and to visit.

Finally, we got married and went to Kenya. It was fantastic!!! I think this travel was a big present for my husband and me. We could see a National Geographic Program with ours eyes, in a first line and it was an experience that we can not forget.

When you go somewhere like Kenya and you see how the children don't have pencils and pens, and all of these things are considered luxuries, and what a privilege they see education as and how hungry they are to learn, I wanted to give my brother and sister long lectures. That definitely stayed with me.

CREATING A MICROTALE: WHO? WHERE? WHEN? WHAT?

Yesterday, The Poppins continued their studies in Labour Integration. While the family was learning new skills to find a job, The Grandma put her business in order. The course is arriving to the end and The Grandma is closing affairs and preparing new objectives for her family, one of them, how to pass a speaking with success.

A PET Exam isn’t an easy thing, especially when the student has been a lot of years without revising the subject. The Grandma is going to explain how to create a microtale, a good tool to practise in the speaking.

A microtale is a short story where the most important is answering the elemental questions: Who? Where? When? What? with a few words and using an easy vocabulary to feel comfortable during the speaking and avoid nerves and hysterias.

It’s usually a first person and real story where the main character is the narrator. This microtale is often plenty of hilarious situations and lots of sense of humour. The objective of this story is to explain something that can be controlled by the narrator and creates a point of empathy between the student and the examiner. The Grandma has practised this technique during all her travels with The Poppins. She has explained lots of short stories to her family and she has always tried to connect every story with a present fact. 

Finally, The Grandma has prepared some new material for The Poppins. For one hand, attending to Susana Poppins, she has written a small dictionary about Commercial Vocabulary and for other hand, attending to Isa Poppins, she has created a resume of some Verb Tenses.

Hi, I'm Eli Poppins and I'm here to explain to you my last project: clubmadres.com.

When, the other day, Susanna Poppins showed us her project I thought in a web in which I write some articles about the maternity. The web was made in 2008 by an old friend, who is an expert in internet,and me.

We thought that when we have a problem, we search the solution in the net and because both of us were mothers and we had learnt a lot about pregnacy, babies, health and education, we decided to write our experiences in well-written articles.

At the beginning, we started with well-known themes like allergies because our children had and have a lot of them and we had some knowledge in this theme. We felt very happy.

After, we started to receive books from the publishers and we read them and wrote some articles about them.

Nowadays, we have less time and we don't write as frequently as we would like but, however, the web has lots of visitors.

INNOVATION FROM SILICON VALLEY TO COMIC CON

Yesterday, The Poppins visited Silicon Valley. It was an important day for all the family because Susana Poppins has been invited to participate in the opening of the annual convention about apps.

It was an incredible experience and all The Poppins enjoyed every minute of that incredible speech. Before assisting to the convention, the family had been reviewing some English grammar. They have been working Present Perfect and its clues Already, Just, Yet and Ever during all the week.

The trip is arriving to the end and now is the moment to start to work with complex exercises, mixing tenses and trying to learn some things of an upper level. The family practised the difference between Past Simple and Present Perfect.

Next Monday, The Poppins are going to San Diego to visit Miramar and to prepare its assistance in the Comic Con next July, 21-24. The Grandma is a great fan of comics and TV Series and she wants to assist to this future convention.

Finally, in the same city, The Poppins are going to visit Ulisses, an old friend, the male orca which lives in SeaWorld and lived in Barcelona before arriving to California. Ulisses (Ulysses) was captured on November 7, 1980 at Reydarfjördur, Iceland, when he was approximately 3 years old and moved to Barcelona where he and Snowflake were the most loved members of the local zoo. After staying in San Diego, Ulisses has had three children: Moanà, Amaya and Kalia.

Comics are a gateway drug to literacy.

SUSANA POPPINS & TONS OF LULAIT

Hello and thank you for coming,

My name is Susana Poppins. I’m German-born although I’ve been living almost all my life in Finland. I’m a member of The Poppins family and I want to explain you something about my online platform.

First of all, I would like to link this project with my life. Yes, because all in life is to grow up and to learn some experience about something or someone.

So, when I returned to Germany, I created an enterprise with my brother. He had an idea and he explained it to me. I agreed and we began quickly. We created Tons of Lulait, an enterprise which mission was helping to connect different local enterprises.

We organised a little exposition inside a big fair and promoted this kind of professionals and we did different meetings with good interesting subjects. We visited different cities with this project like Barcelona, Paris, Rome, London, Berlin, Lisbon, New York, Dublin and today I’m here in Silicon Valley in San Francisco showing you my project. I enjoyed a lot.

Later, I started a marketing course named May the force be with you by Lulú Poppins. It was a course that changed my life. I met new people and created an interesting group. I explained them my project and they helped me with new ideas and this changed my brain.

In 2015, I combined the fair with my business plan and, in April, I went to Barcelona because I wanted to have a different point of view. I joined to The Poppins, another amazing experience. This family is plenty of professionals who are specialists in internet, apps and all about the market. I liked it and I wanted to orient my business to this side.

Although it was difficult for me, I tried to go to as events as I could and I knew new people like developers and designers, people who have enterprises of different business models. I asked them about their projects.

Finally, I decided that I could try again with Tons of Lulait. 

Nowadays, Tons of Lulait is my project and being here in Silicon Valley, in front of you, explaining this, is my success.

(*) Lulait means integrators in Finnish.

WHITE RABBIT: DREAM OR REALITY?

Yesterday, The Poppins practised more Countable & Uncountable nouns. This time, they talked about Much & Many and some especial names.

The family is still in San Francisco where Susana Poppins has an interesting meeting in Silicon Valley next Friday. Meanwhile, The Poppins are enjoying the city and Californian weather and culture. The Grandma has explained some impressions about hippie movement and its evolution. This peaceful movement had a short life but very intensive and it’s a reference in the culture of peace and love. This movement inspired one of the best music generation with the best singers and composers like Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, Bob Seeger, Jefferson Airplane or The Youngbloods. They’re only a part of a long list of great artist who lived an immortal age.

Finally, the family has been talking about dreams and Alice in Wonderland, the fantastic an enigmatic Lewis Carroll’s novel.

Tomorrow, the family is starting to talk about Present Perfect and its clues: since, for, yet, already and just.

Yesterday, The Poppins had another beautiful day. First, they started with some grammar: Past Continuous (While/When), Conditional Simple and how to convert an uncountable noun in countable.

Later, the family assisted to an incredible class of fashion and trend thanks to Lulú Addams-Poppins who is a professional of these themes.

The family is finishing its Australian holiday and they’re crossing the desert with the help of an old Grandma's friend, Cocodrilo Dundee. They're travelling across it to homage Priscilla and her friends and because of this, they chose The Poppins’ Queen: Tonyi.

After remembering ABBA and some mystic writers like Ramon Llull, San Juan de la Cruz and Santa Teresa de Jesús, they continued its travel with the idea of enjoying these last hours in the south hemisphere.
