Alberto is another member of The Addams Family. He’s unquiet and inquisitive and, perhaps,
because of this, he works as a TV Star. He has participated in different TV shows
like Survivors, Big Brother and Kitchen
Nightmares.
Alberto was born in Cracow (Poland), the country home of other famous
people like Maria
Skłodowska Curie (Marie Curie), Fryderyk
Chopin and Mikołaj Kopernik (Nicolaus
Copernicus), who wrote De
revolutionibus orbium coelestium and theorized about another universe’s model where the Sun placed
the Earth at its center. It’s not the case of Alberto’s life:its whole one is dedicated to his children,
especially, after his wife, Marta, decided to enter into a convent in Poblet
(Tarragona) and serve God. It was a great shock for all the family and the most
affected was Alberto, because Marta
is his beloved wife, the mother of his children and the center of his life, in Alberto’s words “the sun that
illuminates and shines my life”.
We don’t
know what happened between Alberto and
Marta. It’s one of the best hidden secrets in this family, but some closer
voices say that the influence of Polish culture over her was so intense that
she consecrated her life to follow another famous Polish, Karol Józef Wojtyla (aka Pope John Paul
II).

Merche is The
Addams' teenager. She was born in Trondheim(Norway) during her parents’
holidays. Norway is a beautiful country very famous for its cod, its fjords and for being the country home of Edvard Munch, the famous painter.
Merche's talkative and extroverted. She’s studying fashion because she
wants to be a great tailor in her near future. Her parents (Jorge and Rocío)
are open mind people who want the best for her and allow her choosing her own
future.
Travelling
to NYC has been always a dream for Merche because of themeaning of this great
city in the fashion’s world and its influence in the world’s trend.
Since the
moment The Addams Family arrived to NYC, Merche was very active trying to capture
all the environment of the city and enjoy it. One of her favourite hobbies is
climbing, because of this, she didn’t doubt of going up the Empire State
Building where, surprisingly, she found a famous New Yorker, King Kong, which
has decided to leave his place in the Bronx’ Zoo to go out and enjoy the city,
too.
Everybody knows that Merche loves animals and it was a matter of time that
she connected with King Kong. After the authorities convinced him to
return to the zoo, Merche promised him that she was going to do her best for
adopting him.
The Addams
Family is still spending some days in New York. After recovering of the last
traumatic experience about Naiara’sdisappearance, The Addams have decided to
follow with their agendas although they’ve changed some plans. They were going
to leave NYC on Wednesday, but they've decided to do it next Monday, because The
Grandma has suffered a great nostalgic attack and she wants to go to visit San Francisco
and rememorize her hippie’s years and the American folk music of the 60’s and
70’s in the University of Berkeley (California) where she shared unforgettable experiences
and great moments.
For one
hand, Naiara is recovering of her hard experience and Merche is working hard to
adopt King Kong, her last new friend. The rest of the family is enjoying every
moment of this trip and they have taken profit about Naiara’s return to
immortalize this travel in a fantastic photo.
For other
hand, The Grandma is meeting with Richard Castle, the famous writer, tomorrow
morning. She has a huge interest in asking him some secrets about his job
to help Daniel, the Addam’s writer, who is in the beginning of his career.
More than a
thousand years ago, there was a knight named George. Riding on a white horse
and, wearing a breast date as bright as silver, he went over the lands in the
country. His mission,
as other knights who lived in that time, was taking justice and liberty to
those who lacked them for one reason or another.
One day,
George the knight arrived in a village where nobody could be seen in the
street. He went to the blacksmith’s house as his horse needed a horseshoe, but
like rest of the houses it was also closed.
After
knocking on the door insistently, it was half opened and the blacksmith let him
in quickly baring the door again.
-Milord,
milord! Misfortune has befallen us. The upset blacksmith told him.
-Explain
everything to me, answered the knight, as he had never seen so much sadness
and devastation anywhere else like that.
-Milord,
for some time there’s a heartless dragon who has been devastating the region.
His breath of fire has burnt our crops and what’s more, he has been eating
every animal he’s found in his way.
In time, the
blacksmith went on explaining to George the knight, as there were so few
animals left, the hungry dragon demanded to be offered a person every day to
satisfy his greedy appetite.
Saint George
The king
called a meeting, and very angrily all the people decided to face up to the
dragon and they got ready to fight. They made big spears, palisades and a big
moat in the hope of killing the dragon. When the dragon appeared, everybody
fought against him in despair. But everything was useless and they were
defeated.
The next
day, in the presence of the dragon and with a threat of devastating everything
if they did not give him what he asked for, they drew lots to see who would
have to be handed over.
Fate willed
that it was the princess Anabelda, the king’s daughter. The king and the queen
were paralyzed as if a ray had passed through them, and both of them tried to
trick the dragon saying that it had fallen to their lot. But the shrewd and
wicked dragon was not tricked and, he took the princess Anabelda between his
paws.
Knight
George, after having listened to the terrible story told by the blacksmith,
said:
-I’ll have
that dragon choke on his food!
And riding
on his horse, he left as fast as he could to look for the captive princess. At
nightfall the knight found the dragon’s cave and the princess, who was the most
beautiful girl that he had ever seen. Suddenly the dragon appeared.
-How lucky I
am today, I’ve got a double portion for dinner.
Saint George
He said
laughing while he closed his eyes and smelt them with appetite. George took
advantage of the occasion, and, as fast as a ray, he cut his head right off
with his sword. The dragon’s blood soaked the earth and a rosebush with lovely
red roses bloomed immediately.
George released
the princess and he gave her a flower so that she would calm down.
You’re so
brave and generous having rescued me from that monster – said Anabelda, in
love with that handsome knight.
When they
returned all the people went out to welcome them cheering and hailing. The king
and the queen could not believe that their beloved daughter was safe and sound.
And as George the knight was now tired of adventures and, besides he was
pleased with the princess’ company, they married and were happy forever.

This
afternoon, The Addams Family has
just arrived to New York City. At
local time 17:16 (23:16 in Sant Boi de Llobregat), the family has gone to rest
in The Plaza Hotel when The Grandma has reserved a whole floor
for them.They haven’t
left their English lessons and have reviewed in the plane some aspects of
Present Continuous, Present Simple, Articles and Jobs.
Tomorrow,
they’re visiting the city by public transport (subway and bus) and buying some
presents for friends and for Marta, who they don’t forget. If there’s enough
time, they will write some postcards for her.
The Grandma has been preparing some guides for the travel: one about
New York City and another about The
Metropolitan Museum and she has a big interest in watching some matches:
one of baseball with the New York Yankees (she admires Derek Jeter) and another
of basketball with the New York Knicks (she loved Pat Ewing, when he played).
The Addams
Family has spent their first week together. During this time, they’ve met The
Grandma, a rich old woman who has adopted them and they’ve explained their
nationalities and jobs.
Last Friday,
The Addams went shopping. It was a difficult shopping list because they are 17
people with different ideas about cooking but they did a great job. They also finished their first reading book. Now, they’re
working in their next objective: New York City. They have already prepared
their luggage, put in order their passports and visas and thought in how many
things they’re going to buy in the American city.
Tomorrow,
they’re going to create a menu and a recipe and, on Tuesday, they're going to think in which places they want to visit in NYC and, the most
important, how they’re going to travel into the city. The Grandma recommends
public transport, in that case, the subway.
Since
tomorrow and during next days, The Grandma is going to introduce her family,
member by member, to you. Enjoy with us! The show has just started!
The Addams Family is shocked. For one hand, the family has adopted a new member, Jordi, and for other hand Marta has decided to leave the family and has written a letter to her husband, Alberto.

Dear
Alberto,
I have
decided to change my life. It hasn’t been easy but I think, finally, I have
found my way. I’ve decided to enter in a convent. I want to dedicate my life to
myself. Sorry, for doing things in that way but… nobody is perfect! God will forgive
my sins…and yours!
Take care of
our lovely children and grandchild. I won’t forget you. They’re blood of my
blood but, in that moment, I think that the best for us is to live separate
lives. I have found my trust in God and I want to follow his path.

After this, the family has decided to prepare a travel to New York for trying to accept it and going on.
Last Friday,
The Grandma received her new family:
The Addams. Sixteen new members will
enlarge the family. They’re from different European countries and they started
with a lot of energy. After the bureaucratic
explanations of MJ, they knew the
real reasons of The Grandma for
adopting them and they realized that there are 200 hours for learning a lot of
English.
The Addams
members are Alberto, Andrea,Daniel, Felipe, Isabel, Jorge, Lourdes (aka
Lurdes), Lulú, Marta, Merche, Mónica, Naiara, Núria, Rocío, Rosana,Verónica and The Thing.
We were
talking about adjectives and their position and preparing some passwords describing
words with only three adjectives. The first objective of The Addams Family is preparing a travel to New York. Jorge gave the clue.
