EXPRESSING ORDERS AND ADVICE: MUST & SHOULD

Manuel & Cristina Bean
Last Thursday, 21, The Beans continued with their English classes. The class started a bit late because The Grandma had been attending some important business in Barcelona. She must vote.

That day, they talked about modal verbs: Must and Should. They also discussed about So and Such.

It's important to know when you have to choose one kind of verb or another because it demonstrates the power of the emitter over the receiver.

The Beans prepared the last details to travel to The USA at Christmas and thought about which places they wanted to visi
t and they were discussing about their new home. The Grandma accepted all their proposals and now they have an enormous work to refurbish all of them.

To make democracy work, we must be a nation of participants, not simply observers. One who does not vote has no right to complain.

PAULA BOND: A NEW HOPE FOR THE CLOSER FUTURE

The Bonds with their transports
Today, The Bonds, who are still in San Francisco, have practised Used to, Relative Pronouns and Such vs. So

More info: Such vs. So

The family is still working Telephoning English, which is a little difficult and they have created a new composition about a Majorcan legend named El salt de la bella dona.

The family has received an interesting present from The Grandma: a transport. In a few days, they're going to start to live alone without the support of the whole family and they must start to prepare this moment. If you have a transport, you can move wherever you want and it offers you a great independence.

After reading a new chapter of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, the family has talked about an interesting theme which Paula Bond has prepared: the educational system. It has been a very interesting moment to offer different points of view about this important theme and for The Grandma has been a great constatation about how far are still the real daily work of the teachers from the perception that the most part of the society has about them.

what one has learned in school.

CRISTINA POPPINS: SO LONG, FAREWELL...

The Poppins
Today, The Poppins have lived an unforgettable day. First, they’ve studied how to use Shall in the polite questions and when to use So or Such. After that, they’ve talked about the importance of filling all the gaps in a web curriculum and about the importance of creating a good networking.

Next, the most important moment has arrived when Cristina Poppins has announced her decision of leaving the family and returning to Águeda, her hometown in Portugal. The family doesn’t know the real ideas of this decision but, of course, they respect and accept it and all of them have encouraged her to follow her new dream.

Involved by the emotion of the moment, the family hasn’t paid attention to Laura Poppins, who is missing since yesterday. Later, when the excitement of Cristina’s moment has finished, they have started to think in Laura and her possible unknown situation. Eli Poppins, like a detective, has the responsibility of finding Laura and the rest of the family is going to help her in this new search.

There's a sad sort of clanging
from the clock in the hall
and the bells in the steeple, too.
Coo-coo. Regretfully they tell us.
Coo-coo. But firmly they compel us
to say good bye.
