A BIG FAMILY: THE COLLINS BY M.CARMEN

A Family Tree
We are a big family, but the really important are ourselves and our family. The Grandma is a friendly, lovely and wealthy woman, who decided to adopt a big family for living a lot of adventures. During this travel, we have worked a lot to improve our English and to search the answers for some questions which are round us. I want to explain you them and the way started here, two months ago.

One day, we received an Eva’s note, his grandfather was missed and we wanted to help her to find him. We travelled to Venice, and during the Corto’s quest, Eva was trapped in the Turkish part of Cyprus. We decided to travel to Nicosia for helping her.

When we’re in Cyprus, during the rescue, Gemma felt down to the sea and we lost her trail. We’re worried but we didn’t know any news about her then we decided to travel to Rhodes it was the last place that someone saw Corto, he has been there. We flew to Adriana’s home in this island and we could visit the island and enjoying Mediterranean lifestyle, culture, hospitality and good food!!!!

Meanwhile, our Grandma was searching a big and incredible home in England for us. We must learn English!!!!!!!!!!!

The Rose of the Winds
Travelling by train we knew The Hobo’s. They were popular people from the U.S; and The Lullaby, popular songs for sleeping babies In the crib of hunger, my dild was. With blood onion is nursed" - Onion’s Lullaby, Miguel Hernández.

Good Luck, Eva!!!!!!!! She’s in an interview.

Karen was preparing Eurovision, Vienna 2015, and we’re helping her with a song “Hou, hou, hou“.

Gemma was located by a seaman, and we could evacuate both to Greece.

That day we received a grandma’s letter, she was waiting us with Belén in Paris. We visited The Louvre Museum and Disneyland Paris.

“In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun. You find the fun and the jobs a game”. Mary Poppins

The grandma explained us about different stories: Majorca’s legend, which was localized in Serra Tramuntana El Salt de la bella dona,  The Ancestral Haitian Culture , an unknown trip about beliefs, suggestions, fears and necromancy, The Navajo’s Nation and how  its language helped the UK during the Second World War !! The most important story, because it’s in our city, was about The non-recognized jobs , also named El banc de proves de Gaudí.
The weather was worst in U.K.  Those days, Vanesa explained it to us: What’s the weather like????

Suitcase
In other hand, Mozart, Grandma and M. Ángeles were waiting us Salzburg.  M. Ángeles made us a perfect visit in the city, visiting the most interesting buildings and places, as well as The Mozart’s Museum House.

During this travel, we received an Eva’s letter from Sant Boi, she fought her destiny and her dream. The Collins family were very proud of Eva. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

That night Karen participated in Eurovision Festival and she won! During this week, the war in Ukraine was increasing and seemed that the help didn’t arrive......” One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes” –Antoine de Saint-Exupèry - Le Petit Prince.

While we were playing in the world of imagination and dreams (Salvador DalÍ), Eva was working in a very real job, she was building the facilities for our pets in Downton Abbey.

When the work was ended, we took a fly to Venice.............It’s Carnival!!!!!!!!!!! Eva and Corto came with us for some days and the Grandma was in Piazza San Marcos waiting for us. We’re really happy, newly we were together.

“E’ lontano il Ponte dei Sospir ma io continuo a sospirar, aspetto il miracolo di poter tornar. Ciao Venezia, ciao!”

An important event happened in Adriana’s life, she must come back home quickly; you must know that you aren’t alone!!!

During this week Grandma talked us about the relationship between Winston Churchill, Barcelona’s population and London Tube. In all this cities, the people built tunnels to shelter from enemy fire; they were called “The Resistance”.

“KEEP CALM AND CARRY A WARD “.

Ohhh My God!!! The Grandma had a scare!! An owl was crossed on her road!!!!!!!!!!

Andorran Passport
The next day she wanted to talk about pragmatic and utopian adjectives.

In the following days, The Grandma explained us about amazing stories in the near and far time........  What has in common Whitechapel, in London and Carrer Raval, in Barcelona. Perhaps....................the organs and the blood?????????? Why is a Salamander in Park Güell? Because the salamander symbolizes the August’s victory on Cleopatra’s Empire. Why church, factory and school form an equilateral triangle?? The same happens between Park Güell and The Forum. Is limited only the construction or is there more behind this?? Masonry, she taught us about it!!!!!!!!

The Grandma suffered a great lost .....................We will always be with you!! “Someone told me along ago, there’s calm before the storm. Here you ever seen the rain coming down on a sunny day?”

A few days ago, Montse talked about Synesthesia, the fantastic world of the sounds, colours and numbers!!!!!!!!!!

After that, the Grandma proposed to travel along the Rose Line Road: London-París-Barcelona; she also told us Why is important the Phi Number (1,618) for the world community, What is the truth about Mona Lisa, Venus of Boticelli, the Keops Pyramid, the Eiffel Tower, Gaudí buildings...................their creation, their perfect measures and distances. All of them are based in the Phi Number.

We decorated Downton Abbey. Montse, Montse Pottery, Miriam and Dámaris prepared a nice story about kings, queens, princes and princesses and Laura spoke about the Oscars. We stayed in Barcelona again: the Sagrada Família was waiiiiiiiiiiitinggggggggg for us!!!!!

You've got the whole world in your pocket
But you just don't know
Everybody's smilin' at you everywhere you go
It's like you've got that secret
That everybody else wants to know.

THE COLLINS FAMILY: 'CAUSE NOTHING ELSE MATTERS

The Collins
The surname Collins has a variety of likely origins in Britain and Ireland:

Anglo-Saxon: A patronymic surname based on the name Colin, an English diminutive form of Nicholas. In England, Collins usually signified son of Colin.

Welsh: Collen = hazel, hazel grove.

Irish: cuilein = darling, a term of endearment applied to a whelp or young animal. The medieval surname was Ua Cuiléin, which has usually become Ó Coileáin today.

The Collins Family are 17 members: Adriana, Belén, Dámaris, David, Eva Cyprus, Eva Maltese, Gemma, Karen, Laura, M.Carmen, M.Ángeles, Miriam, Montse Paris, Montse Pottery, Montse The Second, Vanesa and The Grandma.

Every member of the family comes from a different country and English is the common language. The Collins Family works together for reaching its objectives and, even seeing the world from a seventeen different points of view, they always arrive to find a point in common: The greater good.

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are

I never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we do it our way
All these words I just don't say

Trust I seek but I find in you
Every day for us, something new
Open mind for a different view

GEMMA: THE LAST SURVIVOR

Gemma's message in a bottle
My name is Gemma Collins

I’m a survivor of a boat’s shipwreck. I don’t remember anything about the accident. I woke up on the beach.

Firstly, I wrote SOS on the beach.

Then, I searched my mobile phone and Eureka!, it worked well.

After, I wrote some tweets to James, The Grandma and the rest of my family demanding some help.

Suddenly, Grandma said me: Too late.

I answered that never is too late. I went to explore the island. I was alone. I was afraid, but the Grandma said me that I’m a survivor and she had talked to Barack and he admitted that all the satellites were searching me. She sang my song with me: I need your kisses, to remain your wife. I needed to control my nerves.

Later, I discovered my bag and Eva’s suitcase but there was nothing inside. I connected my GPS and I started to sing around the island. I became crazy. I only needed a coconut in my hand.
In conclusion: Life is not easy for anyone.

I’m going to find many bottles.

I’m going to build a boat.

I love crafts.

I’ve received a lot of tweets from my family giving support to me.

Thanks. I need my new family a lot. I love them and I know they don’t forget me.

Don’t do it, please!

CAN WE PREDICT THE FUTURE?

Tarot
Yesterday, we reviewed Future Simple and we talked about predictions playing Tarot and trying to guess our own future. We also asked for the cards about Gemma’s future. We finished our second reading’s book and we’re ready to start the third one next Monday: Robinson Crusoe.

Our Robinson, Gemma, is still surviving in an unknown island. Today, the rescue’s team has located her and they’ve sent some drones for exploring the zone. The rescue is imminent. All the family members are excited! They're in Athens waiting good news about Gemma.

GEMMA & CAMBRIDGE EXAMS

Last Thursday, we reviewed Future Continuous, some connectors and Zero Conditional. We created a new composition about Occitan Poetry and Gipsy’s tarot and we worked with the W- questions. MJ visited us and talked about the next Cambridge Exams (KET and PET) and their date: 16 May. We talked about online education and some methods of knowledge.

The Collins Family has continued Gemma’s searching. She’s missing since the boat, where all the family was sailing, sunk in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. It seems that Gemma is fine because the family has received some tweets located in an unknown spot.

In the middle of the river
I found your heart.

If you want to give me your life

Give me it, give me it, baby!

Give me it, give me it, baby!

OCCITAN, CATALAN, GIPSY & CATHAR CULTURES

Gypgy Culture
Today, we’ve reviewed Future Continuous, Enough, Countable and Uncountable and we’ve continued our reading about a robbery in a castle. We’ve created a difficult composition divided in two parts with two tempos and two parallel stories and we’ve talked about Occitan and Catalan Poetry in the XII and XIII Centuries and its affection in political and historical facts.

In this line, we’ve remembered the importance of Gipsy culture in the Middle Age and its influence over Kingdoms because of Tarot and we’ve looked back on the Cathar’s culture and the importance of the woman as herbalist and quack doctor opposite to the ideas of the catholic clergy.

The Collins Family has suffered a terrible shock when the Love Boat has sunk. Everybody has tried to swim and help other members of the family and, in an intense emergency plan executed perfectly, all the family has reached a life boat and sat in the sixteen free seats. David has had to join to the family’s boat using a thick rope.

While the emergency rescue teams were helping The Collins Family inside the helicopter, there was a strong movement, perhaps because of the rough wind, and Gemma fell down into the water… again.

We haven’t got a lot of news about her. We only know that she’s alive in an island and we’re trying to find her following her GPS signal. Tomorrow, we will wait a happy ending.

Cross your fingers family and pray… if you’re believers!

BIC & EUROVISION SONG CONTEST

BIC
Today, we’ve reviewed some grammar doing an exam. All the members of the family have passed the exam successfully. We’ve read a little more and we’ve talked about things and its meanings.

After the breakfast, The Collins Family has helped Karen to create some beautiful songs for participating in the next Eurovision Song Contest in Austria, M. Ángeles hometown. We’ve performed a little contest with France, Ukraine, Portugal, Austria, Belgium and Italy as singers. It has been a great moment plenty of strong, passion and incredible performances. France, represented by Gemma and Montse Paris has won with a full punctuation: 25 of 25 possible.

The Grandma has joined this morning to the family. They’re together again and enjoying of The Mediterranean Sea near Santorini (Greece).

I need your kisses
to remain your wife.
I need your caress
to be alive.
Are you with me?
Do you feel me?
Do you touch me?

No, no, no. You're bad.
No, no, no. You're bad.

CREATING AN ALIBI

Keep Calm
Today, we’ve reviewed Past Continuous and Past Simple and we’ve started a new reading book about the adventures of two friends, Jake and Ros. We’ve talked about communication skills in group interviews and we’ve studied the order of words in the sentences, especially with the additions: Manner-Place-Time.

The family is sailing in the Love Boat where has happened a strange case: a robbery. An old passenger said that her jewels had disappeared and some members of our family are between the main suspects: Mari Carmen, Montse Pottery, Eva Cyprus, Adriana, Gemma and Dámaris. The Grandma is flying by helicopter to the Love Boat for avoiding any kind of arrest.

Meanwhile, some members of the family are working very hard: Eva Cyprus is designing new spaces in Downton Abbey for the family pets and Belén is preparing a great tour inside The Louvre Museum.

Tomorrow, The Collins Family will give enough explanations about of all them to seem innocent and continue the trip. The Family has a lot of work: preparing eight different songs for participating in Eurovision Song Contest, a Karen’s dream.

Roll of the dice!

THE D DAY

Rescue Helicopter
The Eva's rescue operation was a success. Eva is fine and she has joined to the family again. It was a difficult operation with some scared moments but we’ve survived. Finally, all the family participated in the rescue except Gemma and Montse Paris, who were afraid to fly and stayed in Sant Boi.

After the rescue, we took some hours for resting and sleeping and we continued with our English classes. We reviewed the ordinal numbers, the prepositions of place and the parts of the city; described people and drove around the city by David and Mari Carmen's car. We continued our reading about Pete and Nicky.

The next objective of the Grandma’s Family: be together in Rhodes Island (Greece), in Adriana's home and try to get some information about Corto's whereabouts.

Με τι καρδιά, με τι πνοή,
τι πόθους και τι πάθος
πήραμε τη ζωή μας. Λάθος!
κι αλλάξαμε ζωή.

With what heart, what spirit,
what desires and passion
we took on our life. Wrong!
and we changed it.
